The best family holiday in the Netherlands

Staying on a real farm

Family holiday at the farm with all luxury & comfort

FarmCamps is the alternative to a large-scale bungalow park. Our farms can be found from Friesland to South Holland and from North Holland to Limburg. All our farms have one thing in common: you don’t want to go home after one night at the farm. And certainly not the children.

Our tents are super-luxurious and comfortable! You sleep at the farm in a comfortable bed. But you also have your own toilet, hot water and a kitchen with everything you need. For the luxurious ones, there are even tents with their own shower!

And we haven’t even mentioned the best part yet: our FarmCamps farms are inhabited by the nicest farmers. They are ready to teach you the ropes of farming. Our farmers are without doubt the best in the Netherlands!

Frequently asked questions about family holidays at FarmCamps

How are the glamping tents furnished?

Our tents are fully equipped and luxurious. So even if you are not very good at camping, you will be fine! Each tent has a comfortable sofa and a large table for playing games. The kitchen has running water, a gas cooker, a small fridge and a good espresso machine. And, of course, plenty of kitchen inventory. Many of our tents also have an outdoor fireplace. Good to know: there is no microwave or oven in the tent.

You sleep in comfortable beds. They are all child-friendly accommodation, including a games box! Unfortunately, our tents do not have a standard baby bed and/or high chair. However, our baby package does include a cot (and a high chair and changing mat). You can hire these when booking.

Is there enough to do for the children?

During a holiday with children, there should of course be plenty to do. On the farm, there are so many fun things to do that the kids don’t really want to go home. Building tree houses, cycling on the cross-bike track, playing in the hay barn, down the cable car, swinging, go-karting, playing football. We could go on and on. On our book page, you can easily select by activity. That way you can be sure to find your children’s favourite activities.

Can we have good food on the farm?

At some of our farms, you can enjoy a nice drink on the terrace after hard work on the farm. Or how about a bite to eat in the restaurant?

Are there any farms for horse lovers?

There are a number of farms where horse lovers can have a blast. There, you can help the farmer take care of the ponies and horses all day long. At two of our farms, it is even possible to have a grooming pony. That is, of course, a dream come true! At FarmCamps Fleur Stables, Breehees, De Geele Bosch, De Verloren Kost and Five Star, you may also bring your own horse. Please check with us in advance whether there is room during your desired period. The costs differ per farm and can be found on this page.

Can I also book a family holiday by the sea?

Sure! We have a few farms close to the beach. At these seaside farms, you can experience farm life with the beach just a stone’s throw away. Read more about our seaside farms here.

Do I have to bring my own towels?

Towels are unfortunately not included in the price. You can bring them yourself, but you can also order a handy towel pack with one large and one small towel.

Do I need to bring my own bedding?

Bedrooms are fully furnished with duvets and pillows and clean bedding. Your bed linen will automatically be added to your booking.

At some farms, you can also opt for the Farmers’ Bedding service. For a small fee per bed, your beds will then be made before arrival.

What should I bring in case of bad weather?

In the Netherlands, of course, you never know! If rain is forecast, we recommend bringing rubber boots and good rainwear for the kids. Also think about some old clothes for the kids, as they are guaranteed to get dirty playing on the farm.

Should it be chilly, we recommend dressing in layers. Also bear in mind that it can be chilly inside the tent if it is cold or windy outside. So bring nice warm clothes for the evenings.

Can we bring our dog?

Most farms allow you to bring a dog. We have a limited number of tents available on each farm for this purpose. There is a maximum of 1 dog per tent. If you would like to bring your dog, please indicate this when booking with your travel group. You will automatically see if it is possible to bring your dog. It may be that there is no tent available in your desired period. In that case, you will not be able to bring your dog or you will have to choose another period or farm. In connection with communicable diseases, only dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, other pets are not allowed.
