Spending the night on a farm is a unique experience for children. When will they get the opportunity to sleep among the animals and help the farmer milk the cows and brush the horses in the morning?
But, fair is fair, actually such a special overnight stay is just fun for the whole family. After all, you too enjoy watching a calf being born, right? You can also taste fresh milk and with a bit of luck make butter or yoghurt…Not to mention the afternoon naps that can be taken in the hay. We would know!
Actually, every day on the farm is a little bit special. And also a little bit exciting. A calf, lamb or foal might just be born. With a bit of luck, you might even get to be there. And what about chickens that escape, horses that have to be brought back into the stables and lambs that are allowed out to pasture for the first time? And watch out, the farmer’s wife might invite you for cow cuddling. Apparently, that makes you very relaxed. Do you dare try that? If you prefer to skip that, there is always the option of a game of golf in the meadow among the cows. Or how about yoga among the alpacas? Also very special! No two days are the same on the farm!
On our farm are all different, luxury glamping tents. Just amongst the horses, cows and bunnies! And the nice thing is also that the tents look slightly different from the glamping tent you might be used to. For example, we have a tent with a bath trailer for you to bathe in and a glamping tent with a sleeping loft. Some glamping tents have a Hay House; this is a playhouse and box bed all in one.
1 – Close to the beach
Some of our farms are right by the sea! That’s a real godsend if you can’t choose between beach or countryside. One day you can stand in the stables with your boots on, the next day you can enjoy the beach! Best of both worlds!
2 – Near or in the forest
Seven of our farms have a forest adjacent to, or even ón their yard.
Take a walk in the woods, play hide-and-seek together among the trees and maybe even sleep in a tree house? These are very special nights! On our farms near the forest, you can do it all. If mum and dad let us, of course…
3 – Between as many horses ponies as possible
A little pony fan in the family? At some of our farms, pony riding can be done to your heart’s content. And of course they can also be brushed and cuddled. Also check out the options for taking a grooming pony!
There are several glamping tents on our FarmCamps farms. Our tents are fully furnished and fully equipped. Of course you will sleep in nice beds and in each tent there is a nice sofa and a table to play games at. The kitchen is also fully equipped: there is a gas cooker, running water, a small fridge and a good espresso machine. And, of course, lots of kitchen inventory. Many of our tents also have an outdoor fireplace by the tent. This way, you can also enjoy the outdoors in the evening.
Good to know: there is no microwave or oven in the tent.
It is certainly possible! If you choose one of our Ranch Tents, then you will have a private bathroom with shower and bath next to the tent. If you choose a Farm Tent, Barn Tent of Lodge Tent (our most luxurious tent) you can even shower inside the tent. If you choose another tent, you can shower in the heated sanitary building on the farm.
Absolutely, boredom is really impossible! The children can help the farmer with all kinds of farm chores. Milking the cows, cleaning the stables or brushing the horses.
But there is also good play to be had on the farm! Building tree houses, racing around on the bicycle cross-country track, playing in the hay barn, sliding down the cable car, swinging, go-karting, playing football. Something for everyone! Also great fun: the farms also organise various activities for young and old.
On our booking page you can select by activity very easily. That way, you can be sure your children’s favourite activities are included.
Of course, in the Netherlands it can always happen that the weather is a bit less nice. Fortunately, there is a game box in every tent that will keep you entertained on a rainy morning.
But even in bad weather, the cows have to be milked and the animals fed. The work on the farm continues, of course. The farmer also needs your help inside to feed the horses and cows, and to sweep and muck out the stables.

There are a lot of different farms. How about an arable farm, an alpaca farm, an organic farm, a cheese farm, a dairy farm, a horse farm, a sheep farm, a play and learning farm or a cattle farm. In short, there are plenty of different farms where you can stay overnight.
At many of our farms, day guests are absolutely welcome, but for a fee. The fee varies from farm to farm, but is usually not very much. Think a few euros per guest, per day. Check with the farmer(s) on arrival.
This is possible, but not necessary. A supermarket is never very far away. In the information folder in the tent, you can find the address of the nearest supermarket. Many FarmCamps farms also have a small farm shop with a basic range of food and treats. Most farms also offer a sandwich service.
Check in
You can check in between 3pm and 7pm on Mondays and Fridays. Should you be a little late, you can tell the farmer(s) directly. You will receive the phone number of the farm by e-mail from us 3 days before arrival.
Check out
You have until 10am to check out on Mondays and Fridays. Have you booked a weekend away? Then you can stay until 5pm on Sunday.
Exceptions are Easter Monday and Whit Monday, when check-out is possible until 5pm.
Absolutely! x x x
Towels are unfortunately not included in the price. You can bring them yourself, or you can order a convenient towel pack with one large and one small towel.
The sleeping quarters are fully equipped with duvets, pillows and clean bedding. Your bed linen will automatically be added to your booking.
At some farms, you can also opt for the Farmers’ Bed layout. For a small fee per bed, your beds will then be made before arrival.
Most farms allow you to bring a dog. Of course, this is also a unique overnight stay for your dog! On each farm, a limited number of tents are available for families with dogs. A maximum of 1 dog per tent is allowed. If you would like to bring a dog, please indicate this in the travel party when booking. You will then see if it is possible to bring your dog. It is therefore possible that tents are no longer available in your desired period. So, in that case, you cannot bring your dog or you have to choose another period or farm. Due to transmittable diseases, only dogs are allowed. So unfortunately you are not allowed to bring other pets.
