Adventure and fun for children

A farm is not just a holiday destination, it may well be the most fun playground around. Children can climb, jump, run and build to their heart’s content. There are trampolines, play barns, haylofts and animal fields where there is always something to discover.

They can help feed the animals, make new friends on the farmyard or roast marshmallows by the campfire. And because everything takes place in a safe and easy-to-overview setting, parents can relax while the children have the time of their lives.

Comfort and nature go hand in hand

At FarmCamps, you enjoy the outdoor life without compromising on comfort. Our luxury tents are fully equipped with real beds, a kitchen and private sanitary facilities. So you wake up to birdsong and the smell of fresh grass, while still sleeping in a proper bed.

While the children head out with the farmer, play in the hay barn or cuddle the animals, you can enjoy a cup of coffee on the veranda. In the evening, you snuggle up together under a blanket, look at the stars and make memories you will not soon forget.

Farm camping, farm campsite or minicampsite: what is the difference?

The terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference. A classic farm campsite or minicampsite is usually a simple pitch on a farmer’s land, where you bring your own tent or caravan.

Farm camping at FarmCamps is glamping. Your tent is already there, fully equipped with beds, a kitchen and private sanitary facilities. So you combine the atmosphere and space of a farm campsite with the comfort of a holiday home.

That makes FarmCamps ideal for families who want to experience outdoor living, without having to haul around camping gear. This way, your farm holiday feels both adventurous and relaxed.

How much does farm camping cost?

The price of farm camping depends on the farm, the type of tent and the season. At FarmCamps, you can stay in a fully equipped luxury tent from around €400 per stay, including private sanitary facilities.

Stays in the low season and during the week are often more affordable than during school holidays and popular weekends. Check the current prices and availability via Search & Book.

When is the best time to go farm camping?

Every season has its own charm on the farm. In spring, you can see lambs and calves and nature bursts into life, making it ideal for the May holiday, Ascension or the Whitsun weekend.

In summer, there is plenty of outdoor fun, long evenings on the veranda and maybe even an ice cream from the farm. Perfect for the summer holiday.

In autumn, you can enjoy the peace and quiet, the colours of nature and cosy evenings in the tent. The autumn holidays are therefore also a wonderful time to go farm camping. Many farms also have heated facilities, so you can stay comfortably in early spring and autumn too.

Meetings and overnight stays in nature on the farm

Frequently asked questions about farm camping

When staying at a farm, you are truly a guest of the farmer and their family. You stay on or near a working farm and experience real farm life up close. This could be in an apartment, holiday home, B&B or another type of accommodation. Camping at a farm is more about staying outdoors on the farmyard or farmland, for example in your own tent, caravan, camper or in a luxury tent. At FarmCamps, both experiences come together: you camp in a fully equipped luxury tent and the farmer and farmer’s wife introduce you to real farm life.

Staying at a farm in the Netherlands and Germany means spending your holiday on a real working farm. At FarmCamps, you stay in a luxury tent surrounded by nature, often close to cows, chickens, ponies, horses or alpacas. Children can play on the farmyard, feed the animals, help with small farm jobs and discover what real farm life is like. Meanwhile, parents can enjoy space, peace and the comfort of a fully equipped tent.

No, dogs are not allowed at every FarmCamps farm. Dogs are very welcome at many farms, but this depends on the location and the type of luxury tent. On the FarmCamps website, you can easily filter for dog friendly farms. This way, you can quickly see where you and your dog can enjoy a farm holiday together.

Yes, staying at a farm is perfect for a long weekend away. It gives you the feeling of a real break, without needing to travel far. Children can head straight onto the farmyard, meet the animals and play outside, while parents enjoy the peace and fresh air. A long weekend at FarmCamps quickly feels like a mini holiday in the countryside.

The price for staying at a FarmCamps farm depends on the farm, the type of luxury tent, the travel period and the length of stay. The lowest price per night is approximately €92.93, based on a weekly stay from €650.50 divided by 7 nights. This means you can book a week on the farm with FarmCamps from €650.50. The current price for your preferred stay is always shown in the availability and booking module.
