FarmCamps De Kalverliefde

In Stramproy in Limburg, right by the Belgian border, you’ll find the farm of farmer Johan and farmer’s wife Anna, their two teenagers Sem and Jasmijn and farm dog Max. This lovely couple met when they were younger at a mushroom farm and fell in love. Johan, the son of a dairy farmer, trained as a primary school teacher, but farm life kept calling. Anna, a true animal lover, was all in too. They started with arable farming and horticulture and later expanded the farm with rosé calves and lots of other animals. All the maize Johan grows is used as animal feed, and it might just be that the carrots, peas, beans and black salsify in your cupboard come from this very farm! So not only a love for calves, but for vegetables too. The rosé calves live in the barn and stay here from about 10 weeks up to 8 months old. They are cared for with lots of love. Together with farmer’s wife Anna, you can help out in the barn: pushing up the feed, giving vitamins and checking how everyone is doing. There are always a few curious calves that like to come over for some extra attention and a tasty snack. And there’s more farm life to discover! You’ll also find goats, nandus (a smaller type of ostrich), rabbits, geese, chickens, cats and kittens and alpacas. And when you’re not busy caring for the animals, there’s plenty of room to play. Race around the yard on go-karts, bounce on the trampoline or swing as high as you can. Or would you rather bake “mud cakes” in the mud kitchen, build dens in the woods or play football with your new friends? As you can tell, there’s always something to do at FarmCamps De Kalverliefde.
