Unlock the full potential of your farm

FarmCamps offers farmers a reliable, low-risk way to diversify their income by hosting families in fully equipped glamping tents on their land. Since 2012, we have partnered with more than 25 farms in the Netherlands – and we are now bringing FarmCamps to the UK as we look for our very first partner farms.

About FarmCamps

FarmCamps is the leading agritourism concept in the Netherlands. We place luxury, ready-to-go tents on working farms and take care of the logistics, marketing, and bookings. Families come to enjoy nature, learn about farming and food production, and experience rural life in a comfortable and safe way. Children help feed the animals and play outside, while parents relax and enjoy the countryside.

This model allows you to create a new and steady income stream, while we take care of the hard work behind the scenes.

Frequently asked questions – clearly answered

Is this eligible for approval?
Yes, if certain requirements are met. We review this together and support you in clarifying matters with the relevant authorities. Our legal partner has already provided arguments for similar projects.

Do I need to adapt my farm?
No. The model is intended as a secondary use alongside the ongoing agricultural operation.

Is this considered a business activity?
We assess this with you on a case-by-case basis. In many cases, registration is done as a sideline activity by a second person in the household or through a separate legal entity, in order to optimally address fiscal and legal aspects.

What we look for in our partner farms

We like to keep things simple and practical. If this sounds like your farm, we’d love to talk.

  • A suitable field

A level area for at least 8 tents (each approx. 120 m²).

  • Basic utilities

Willingness to install or provide water, electricity and drainage.

  • Animals on the farm

Presence of small animals or plans to keep animals that guests can interact with.

  • Simple guest offerings

Interest in light extras such as a small farm shop, BBQ packages or an activity.

  • Grounds maintenance

Field upkeep such as mowing the grass, checking the playground and basic cleanliness.

  • Commitment to partnership

A collaboration of at least five years so we can build something great together.

  • Hospitality

Genuine enthusiasm for welcoming guests and sharing farm life.

Huibert & Annet • FarmCamps Op Flakkee

Since 2017, we have been part of FarmCamps. It’s a great addition to our dairy farm: we remain farmers first, share our story with guests, and it strengthens our business financially.

FarmCamps takes care of bookings and aftercare; the collaboration is relaxed and communication lines are short. Guests appreciate their stay and often return. It takes time, but with routine it’s easy to plan. The interaction with guests is enriching for us: during milking and around the yard we hear the most wonderful stories. The respect for farmers and the sense of wonder about the world behind a glass of milk feel very special.

Huub & Martine • FarmCamps De Kamperhoek

We joined FarmCamps in 2013 and were immediately excited when we saw the beautiful luxury tents. FarmCamps is something you do together: the team and the farm family both work to give guests a wonderful time. It takes attention, but it’s great fun. Despite the busy days, you feel like you’re on holiday on your own farm.

Our advice for anyone wanting to start: make sure you enjoy working with people and children, give them a warm welcome, and teach them something about farm life.

Jan & Saskia • FarmCamps Fleur Stables

FarmCamps is a wonderful concept and we’re glad we joined in 2012. It provides valuable additional income, and with just the two of us we’re now running our 14th season with a healthy return.

Thanks to FarmCamps we welcome guests we wouldn’t normally meet, which leads to friendly conversations. Many guests even come back, and some children leave in tears because they don’t want to say goodbye to their pony. That says it all!

Farmer Jan’s advice: Curious about FarmCamps? Visit a participating farm. It will give you a clear picture of what’s involved. The office is happy to help arrange an appointment.
