At this lovely spot in North Limburg, farmer Bart and farmer’s wife Floor live with their three young children, Eefje, Vera, and Pim. Over the past ten years, they have gradually transformed their traditional dairy farm into the small-scale, innovative family-run farm it is today. For farmer Bart and Floor, animal welfare always comes first. That’s why, a few years ago, they decided to swap their black-and-white dairy cows for the smaller, brown Jersey cows. These cows may produce less milk, but they live together in a family herd – meaning the calves get to stay with their mothers, all sharing the same barn with much more space than on a regular dairy farm. For many years, farmer Bart cared for his cows with great love and dedication, but unfortunately this way of farming wasn’t financially sustainable. In 2025, they decided to stop milking, and the 20 oldest cows have stayed on the farm to enjoy their well-deserved retirement. They now graze on herb-rich meadows, and their manure is used to fertilise the land, helping the grass grow that feeds the horses, cows, and other small animals on the farm, who can all roam around freely. The cows also love being cared for and cuddled by the guests. Floor’s passion lies in caring for young people and children on their care farm – and of course, in her love for horses. They have a wonderful herd of ponies and horses who have worked hard all their lives. Here, they can enjoy their well-earned rest and gentle care. They all live together in the beautifully designed Paddock Paradise, located just behind the tents. The horses and ponies absolutely love being brushed and pampered, and they’re always happy to go for a little walk with the children. But there’s so much more to see and do on this farm! Farmer Bart has a mobile chicken coop, where the kids can help collect freshly laid free-range eggs. In the large vegetable garden, they can join in and harvest the tastiest veggies and herbs themselves – or snack on the fruit from the old orchard trees. And of course, no visit is complete without cuddling the star of the farm, Rudy the friendly pig. He roams freely around the yard and happily grunts when he gets a pat. There’s truly something for everyone here! The kids can help take care of the animals, play to their hearts’ content in the big play meadow with a trampoline, mud kitchen, watercourse, and the huge play ship. They can also practise their driving skills in the large go-kart traffic park or challenge you to a football match on the panna field.
