That farmer Kirsten from FarmCamps De Buitenhoeve knows a lot about making cheese, we already knew that! But a good farmer also knows everything about cows. Because the milk to make those delicious cheeses comes from that beautiful animal. You may have heard that a cow has not one but four stomachs. They are also called ruminants. They stand in the meadow all day long grinding grass. What is the deal with a cow's four stomachs? Why does a cow have four and we only have one? Farmer Kirsten tells you all about it in this blog.
Our farms are not only home to cows, sheep and chickens. There are also many farms with alpacas. Logical, because no one can resist those sweet, soft, fluffy animals with their funny faces and nice, woolly legs, of course. There are many locations in the Netherlands where you can go for a day trip with an alpaca, including our farm Alpaca Vorstenbosch. But, what about spending the whole vacation with your favorite animals?

Christmas is the time of love, coziness, warmth, family and presents under the tree! But giving an original and cool present is and remains a bit difficult. We don't mind at all, because nowadays there are so many nice gift vouchers that you can make someone very happy with. But as we already wrote, there are so many, so which one do you choose? If you still find it difficult to choose a gift voucher, we have put out a small poll among our followers especially to help you. Yum, a nice fresh egg for breakfast or in a salad! Or use them in a farmer's cake or for the poffertjes. On our farms you may have picked up a nice egg fresh from the chicken and eaten it. At home, most people buy their eggs in the store, packed in a cardboard egg carton. When the eggs are gone, the carton goes in the waste paper. But we think that's a shame! You can make the nicest things with egg cartons. This time Juliëtte makes a caterpillar from an old egg carton.
This time we asked farmer Huub and his wife Martine of FarmCamps De Kamperhoek the (farmer's) shirt off his back!
