There are a lot of horses and ponies at FarmCamps De Smulhoeve, but there is certainly more to experience. You can race around on the go-karts or play hide-and-seek in the hay barn. The animals in the cuddle barn also like to be pampered. Yes, there are even more different animals running around the farm: how about alpacas, goats, pigs and chickens?
Want to get out of the yard for once? You can cycle to the Efteling and the Loonse and Drunense Dunes are even within walking distance! Also nearby: the Beekse Bergen and the Biesbosch, one of the most beautiful places in the Netherlands. You can take a boat trip and spot unusual birds or go fly-fishing.
Fleur Stables is the farm for riders and horsewomen with riding experience. You will be responsible for all the care of your "own" pony: brushing, feeding, mucking out the stable and taking your pony to pasture. And of course, you get to ride for an hour every day. Riding experience is necessary as you will drive without direct supervision. So it is important that you already have the necessary experience with ponies 🙂 .

Good news for family members who are slightly less fans of horses and ponies: there is even more to experience. Really! In front of the farm is a large ditch where you can enjoy boating or fishing. This can be done in Farmer Jan's motorboat, rowboat or canoe. Want to make it a real day out? Then book the rowing boat with picnic basket with tasty snacks and drinks from €8 per adult.
Explore the surrounding area? The well-known North-Holland seaside resort Callantsoog is 10 km away. The pretty seaside resorts of Schoorl and Bergen aan Zee are also nearby. Also check if the beautiful bulb fields in the area happen to be in bloom. Or visit Zee Aquarium Bergen aan Zee. Here you will find a huge number of species of marine animals and as many as 43 aquariums.
At Soodehof Eins, you can rent a grooming pony during your holiday, if you have always wanted to have your own pony! You are responsible for all the care of the shetlander Fenna or the pony Lea, which of course you do not mind at all 😉. They are also both very easy to ride, which you may also do for an hour a day.

Good news for family members who are slightly less fans of horses and ponies: there is even more to experience. Really! You will not easily get bored in this beautiful natural environment. Here you can, for example, go on a torch-lit hike with the farmer's wife, canoe down the Diemel river or take endless walks in the beautiful surroundings.
About half an hour's drive from the farm is the fairy-tale capital of Kassel, where the Brothers Grimm wrote fairy tales and legends, if that doesn't sound enchanting!
Luxury horses need not worry about overnight stays. You will sleep in luxury glamping tents with all the trimmings. We made the tents as luxurious and comfortable as possible.
