FarmCamps De Bosrand

It was not only love at first sight for farmer Martijn and farmer’s wife Naduah when they met each other… it was also love at first sight when they first saw farm De Bosrand. The farm is beautifully located – the name says it all – right on the edge of the forest, with a lovely forest lake less than 100 metres away where you can enjoy a refreshing swim on sunny days. Together with their son Dayo and daughter Maya, they love sharing their passion for animals and nature with their guests. The farm is a true pony paradise with more than 50 horses and ponies, an outdoor riding arena and a paddock where the smallest ponies can happily relax and roll around in the sand. You can see their love for animals everywhere. When a nearby riding school went bankrupt, Martijn and Naduah took in all of the horses. And De Bosrand has also become home to two special oxen. One of them was given a new home here after he no longer had a future elsewhere, and because such a big gentle fellow deserves company, another ox soon joined him. Now the two of them happily roam around between the donkeys and goats. The campsite has grown into a large but cosy holiday park with great facilities, including a brand-new dining area with a farm terrace and a menu for lunch and dinner. There is plenty of space to play on the large climbing structure with slides, or simply relax and enjoy a nice beer, pizza or spareribs with fries. And wherever you stay, you can always spot an animal from your tent. At De Bosrand there is something for everyone. So it’s a place where both kids and parents can have a wonderful time – even if you’re not a big pony fan 😉. Farmer Naduah absolutely loves animals. She truly enjoys caring for them and loves doing this together with the guests. Farmer Martijn loves a good atmosphere and is always busy around the campsite. He is passionate about tractors and is happy to show you his big, impressive John Deere tractor – his favourite brand. Son Dayo is also fascinated by all the big machines and, when he’s not playing with the other children on the campsite, he loves riding along with his father on the tractor. Besides lots of sweet horses and ponies, De Bosrand is also home to alpacas, rabbits, donkeys, pigs, goats, chickens, cats, deer and ducks. So you can be sure there’s a lively collection of animals here! Much of farm life revolves around caring for the ponies and the other animals – and you can help with that every day. You can also take a walk through the forest next to the campsite with the ponies and alpacas. Or would you prefer a pony riding lesson, a ride through the forest, or even your own “cuddle pony” during your stay? For active guests there is plenty to do as well. You can go stand-up paddleboarding on the forest lake next to the farm, or take your mountain bike straight into the woods. Or explore the surroundings at a more relaxed pace on one of the farm’s rental bikes.
