Parents-be warned! De Kamperhoek farm is the promised land for tenacious boys and girls. Farmer Huub will proudly show you his collection of large agricultural machinery which he uses to tend his 70 hectares of farmland. Farmer Huub and his wife Martine also cultivate kidney beans, wheat and sugar beet.
The apple never falls far from the tree as Huub’s three young sons are always on the go! Your children will always have sotmething to do – go-karting, quad biking or even building their own karts. Naturally the softer side shines through here too with plenty of bunny cuddles to relax with. Bo the donkey and Woody the pony also love to be groomed or to go for short rides.
Great hospitality aside, this stunning location has it all from peace and quiet to socializing around the camp fire! Enjoy the panoramic views from the farm itself or sunbathe on one of the nearby Westerschelde beaches in Zeeland. Oh and by the way – at low tide the chances are very high you will spot a few seals.
Few have experienced the natural beauty of the Zeeland-Flanders low lands. This beautiful farm is surrounded by typical Dutch dykes together with tall, grandiose trees with fields and meadows that stretch for as far as your eye can see. Tucked between the Dutch and Belgian landscape it is renowned for its mix of the best of both cultures.
On this farm you can choose from one of our 22 luxury tents. The Safari Tent includes a private toilet (showers are in the nearby heated bathing facilities). Or you can treat yourself to a little extra luxury and opt for our luxurious Lodge Tent with a private bathroom with shower and toilet in your tent. If you fancy a bath tub, than the Barn Tent is the best choice. It also comes with a handy dishwasher. There’s so much luxury – all you have to do is pick which type you prefer!
This FarmCamps farm is situated on a quiet embankment, surrounded by wide pastures and fields. A few hundred meters away and you’ll find a large fishing lake while the Westerschelde coastline and beaches are but a short 5km distance.
10 Safari Tents are pitched on a private field overlooking open meadows. In the middle is the camp fire where Farmer Huub twice a week stokes the fire while enjoying a cool beer. The 4 Lodge Tents and 8 Barn Tents are both situated on a beautiful and private field surround by peace, space and privacy.
The site also offers two extra fields for any guests who wish to bring their own camping equipment.
No farm adventure would be complete without learning a thing or two from the professionals. Farmer Huub and his wife Martine take this very personally! So you can expect to learn all about how to grow their crops but also how to use that knowledge in your own kitchen garden back at your tent. Naturally the farmyard furries need your help too so expect to take care of chickens and rabbits together with the donkey and the pony too. During your stay you have a chance of walking with the pony or go for a ride on the donkey.
When it comes to play – the rules are: there are no rules!!! Here you’ll find go-karting, motocross and trampolines. Or you can play in the water and sand pits; roll around in the Hay-Hay! Play Barn or even a game of football with your new friends – everything is allowed!
During check-in all children are offered a Farmer’s Passport from FarmCamps. These are loaded with fun and educational activities which they can do independently or together with their farmer. Your mini-farmers can discover and experience real life on a farm.
For each completed task they will receive a stamp in their Farmer’s Passport. When their work is done they will graduate with their own farmhand diploma!
During your stay Farmer Huub will show you the ropes with a guided tour of the farm. He will share with you the pleasure they get from working the land.
Experience this unique chance to go where only farmers dare to go and soak up the special stories they´ll share with you about the farm they love and care for.
In this creative workshop, Martine will show you how to make a ‘grass doll’ from grass seed, soil and a pair of tights! When you give your doll water then his/her hair will grow!
Hitch a ride on the tractor wagon with Farmer Huub who will show the delightful local landscape through the low lands down to the Westerschelde coastline.
You can hire bikes nearby the farm and take a delightful ride through the local countryside or to the Westerschelde coastline.
A few hundred meters away and you’ll find a large fishing lake so don’t forget to pack your rod!
Hidden around the farm yard are Martine’s special clues to send you on an exciting treasure hunt. See if you can be the one to find all the answers!
Do you like to play? Then you are at the right place on this farm! Here you can enjoy crossing with the may BMX bikes on the cyclocross track, play in the Hay Barn, jump on the trampoline or swing on the swing.
Looking for ultimate relaxation? Well look no further because Farmer Huub is up and about at the crack of dawn and so happy to deliver breakfast to your tent! Or maybe you fancy an evening BBQ? Not to worry, Farmer’s wife Martine will organize this for you. And of course there is always the small on-site farm shop where you can pick up some basics and a few treats. On Saturdays and during summer time, you can also get fresh bread delivered by a local baker.
No one likes going home with a bag of dirty washing, so we recommend you order the towel bundle and rent some genuine FarmCamp overalls for the kids. Your mini-farmers will not only look great but their clothes will not get so dirty either!
You can order all your extras at the point of booking, but if you are not sure yet don’t worry, you can also order them on the spot.
A deliciously fresh farmers breakfast delivered to your tent including fresh bread, milk, juice, yoghurt, eggs (you cook these to your own liking) and of course a variety of condiments.
Treat yourself to a tasty farmers BBQ including local artisan meats, salads, bread and sauces and of course it wouldn’t be complete without a treat for the kids. The barbecue (charcoal or gas) is included in the price.
No need to lug around your own baby gear! This package includes a baby bed, high chair and a changing mat. Don’t forget to bring your baby’s own bed linen though.

In nearby Kloosterzande you can enjoy the fun of an outdoor swimming pool.
Even in cooler times, you can still have a fabulous time splashing around in ´De Vogel´ indoor swimming pool in Hengsdijk. This swimming paradise boasts a recreational pool, separate infant/toddler pools and a spectacular water slide which is a staggering 70 meters long! Here you can also play the unique ‘aqua smash’ game. And they didn’t forget the parents either who can relax in the spa corner.
Stretching along the Westerschelde coast are many wonderful beaches, perfect for swimming. One of the most famous of these is ‘Putjesstrand´ in Ossenisse. At low tide this beach comes into its element creating small pools where the kids can go shrimping and crabbing!
The real beach lovers will also get their money’s worth in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. A 45-minute drive from the farm you will find the seaside resorts of Breskens, Nieuwvliet and Cadzand. And why not take a hop, skip and jump over the border to Flanders and visit the famous seaside resort of Knokke?
Close to our farm you can walk to the 11-hole farmers’ golf course at Zaamsveer. Who will come out under par and who will be over?
Bounce around to your hearts content like little lambs in spring at this fantastic indoor playground. There are slides, spring cushions, go-carts and trampolines. Endless hours of fun will fly by at De Bourgondiër.
Since you are in the south-west of The Netherlands then you are but a whisper from Antwerp. This beautiful zoo in the center of Antwerp is home to more than 5000 animals.
Studio 100 is a Belgian company that produces popular children’s television series. For true fans of their loveable heroes then it doesn’t get any better than a visit to ‘Plopsaland’ in De Panne, a Belgian province in west Flanders. This 80 minute drive will end with radiant smiles and cheers of joy on this fun day out with the family.
This official nature reserve is a cross point between the river Scheldt and the Western Scheldt estuary. This is a truly unforgettable nature adventure for the kids as they explore Europe’s largest water wilderness. Organized excursions and crabbing trips for the kids are a must!
Terneuzen is the third largest port in the Netherlands (after those of Rotterdam and Amsterdam). Exploring its giant locks will not only let you admire the enormous passing sea vessels but you will also learn a thing or two about this historic location. If you really have sea legs then you can also get on board and go out for a sail.
In a 1.5-hour boat trip on the Westerschelde, you will search for seals, porpoises and seabirds. During the boat trip you will learn all about shipping, fishing and the area you are sailing through. The boat leaves at the port of Breskens.
Close by the farm is Hulst, one of the prettiest fortified towns in The Netherlands. Kids can go on a treasure hunt through this delightful walled town. Also worth a visit is the nearby fortified town of Sluis which hosts the Belfort Museum in the heart of the town. The Belfort Towers, part of the museum, offer wonderful views.
Just a short 30 minute drive and you’ll find yourself in the heart of these beautiful Belgian towns. Famous for their stunning architecture, boutique shops and delightful terraces and restaurants – they’re a must!
In Zaamslag you will find a large collection of shells and sea-life. The smallest of these are in matchboxes, the rest in showcases or large drawers. There is also a collection of sea creatures, such as a stuffed puffer fish, a large seahorse, a sea urchin and beautiful corals. The 90 year old man will tell you all about it!
