Contrary to the rest of Holland, South Limburg boasts beautiful rolling hills where you can almost forget you are in The Netherlands.
Nestled between the valleys surrounding Gulpen lies FarmCamps De Verloren Kost. The meandering drive up to the farm is as spectacular as the location itself.
It’s no wonder that Farmer Sherman and his wife Annemarie can think of no better place to live and work. Together with their family they took over the farm from Sherman’s parents and have never looked back.
Together, this farming family recently converted their old dairy farm into a fun, educational and friendly recreational spot where the ponies play the lead role. The cows have moved out and their four legged friends have moved in.
Annemarie runs this small-scale horse livery, teaches local kids how to ride and offers you the best Limburgse tart and ice creams while sitting in the sun on their outdoor terrace. Farmer Sherman is often out at work during the day but in the evening he pulls on his overalls and gets cracking on the farm – the work here never stops!
This farm offers something for everyone from having fun with the ponies, helping to care for the other animals or just playing on the yard or in the neighbouring forest. ‘Verloren’ may mean ‘lost’ in Dutch but the only thing you will lose here is your sense of time as you bask in the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings here.
This is what makes this farm so much fun!
At FarmCamps De Verloren Kost you are literally sleeping on a ‘higher level’. Nestled in the middle of the beautiful rolling hills of South Limburg, the luxury tents here are pitched on different levels.
