In this arable region of Zeeland you will find the farm of Farmer Jan and his wife Ella. Nowadays it turns its hand to all things equine, together with a ‘nature education center’. No longer a working farm, FarmCamps Five Star looks to teach your mini-farmers in a fun and enjoyable way about agriculture and farm life.
Ella for example will show the kids how to make their own chips (and of course they can eat them too), while Farmer Jan will happily treat you to a “Strandjuttertje” at the weekly campfire evening.
What farm would be complete without a few furries? Here your mini-farmers can help to care for the stunning Blonde d’Aquitaine beef cow, ponies, the pigs Karbo and Naadje and many chickens, cats and rabbits.
Kids are free and safe to stroll around here and if it’s bad weather then just try stopping them from jumping around in the ‘Farmers Ball Pit’! All this and more is waiting for you and it’s all less than 5km from the delightful Banjaard beach and Veerse Meer.

The beautiful Zeeland island of ‘Noord-Beveland’ is surrounded by lake Veerse, the incredible Eastern Scheldt dam (part of the Delta Works series) and the North Sea – here there are endless opportunities to enjoy the real Zeeland landscape on sunny days.
At FarmCamps Five Star you can choose from one of our 11 luxury, fully equipped Safari Tents including a private toilet. Showers are in the nearby bathing facilities. Four of the Safari Tents even have an airconditioning. Or you can treat yourself to a little extra luxury with one of our 8 fully equipped Lodge Tents including private bathrooms.
This FarmCamps farm is located on a quiet embankment and is surrounded by pastures and fields. This site also offers 5 extra spots for any guests who wish to bring their own camping equipment. Less than 5km away and you’ll come upon the Banjaard beach and lake Veerse Meer.
Our luxury tents are set around an attractive field lined with trees which protect you against any Zeeland wind. Here your mini-farmers are safe to play and explore the farm, you don’t need to worry that they wander too far away.
At FarmCamps Five Star there are also 5 camping spots for guests with their own camping equipment. More information can be found on the website of the farm itself.
No farm adventure would be complete without learning a thing or two from the professionals. Farmer Jan and his wife Ella take this very personally! So you can expect to join Farmer Jan every day to care for his ponies, or you can feed the other animals in the barn. Farmer’s wife Ella will teach you how to make delicious chips from fresh farm potatoes.
If you are more in the mood to play then you won’t be disappointed! Here you’ll find go-karting, trampolines and a sand pit great for building sand castles. Or walk over the big waterbed in the garden. Just enjoy yourself! With bad weather you can dive into the ball pit of the indoor playground and enjoy a cappuccino with a delicious piece of home made apple pie. You can also order something of the small menu.
During check-in all children are offered a Farmer’s Passport from FarmCamps. These are loaded with fun and educational activities which they can do independently or together with their farmer. Your mini-farmers can discover and experience real life on a farm. For each completed task they will receive a stamp in their Farmer’s Passport. When their work is done they will graduate with their own farmhand diploma!
During your stay Farmer Jan will show you the ropes with a guided tour of the farm. He will share with you the pleasure they get from working on the farm and taking care of their animals.
Together with Ella you will learn how to make delicious chips from fresh farm potatoes – and of course you will get to taste it too!
During your holiday you can help every morning with taking care of the ponies. There is a big chance you will will be able to ride a pony once for free. But if you want more pony time, that is no problem of course! Together with your parents you take a pony walk through the lovely country side. You on it a and your parents next to it.
Want to go to the beach by bike? There are several bicycle rental companies close to the farm, just around the corner in the village of Kamperland. One of them even delivers the bicycles to the farm.
To do this scavenger hunt you will need the sheet with pictures of animals on and things you can find around the farmyard. Tick the box if you have spotted one. Can you find all of them?
If the weather is a bit poor, or if you feel like having a blast in the climbing paradise or in the ball pit, dive into the indoor playground of FarmCamps Five Star.
The indoor playground is opened daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the playground is only open to FarmCamps guests from 10am to 12 noon and is closed the rest of the day.
If you’re more into playing, then you will certainly get your money’s worth on the farm too. Go-karting, jumping on the trampoline, swinging or playing with sand. Everything is possible
Looking for ultimate relaxation? Well look no further because Farmer’s wife Ella is up and about at the crack of dawn and happy to deliver breakfast to your tent! Or maybe you fancy an evening BBQ? Not to worry, she will organize this for you. And of course there is always the small on-site farm shop where you can pick up your basics, a few treats and babyfood, together with ordering your freshly baked bread – now that’s handy!
Do you want to sit down for a nice lunch or early dinner? On the farm there is an extensive menu in the restaurant near the indoor playground until 6 pm with sandwiches, salads, poffertjes, pancakes, fries and snacks. When the weather is nice, you can sit on our sheltered terrace.
No one likes going home with a bag of dirty washing, so we recommend you order the towel bundle and rent some genuine FarmCamp overalls for the kids. Your mini-farmers will not only look great but their clothes will not get so dirty either!
You can order all your extras at the point of booking, but if you are not sure yet don’t worry, you can also order them on the spot.
A deliciously fresh farmers breakfast delivered to your tent including fresh bread, milk, juice, yoghurt, eggs (you cook these to your own liking) and of course a variety of condiments.
Every morning you can also use the bread service. You can order the bread a day in advance at the farmers shop.
Treat yourself to a tasty farmers BBQ including local artisan meats, salads, bread and sauces and of course it wouldn’t be complete without a treat for the kids. The barbecue (charcoal or gas) is included in the price.
During the holidays all days possible except for Fridays. Outside the holiday periods only possible on Saturday and Sunday.
No need to lug around your own baby gear! This package includes a baby bed, high chair and a changing mat. Don’t forget to bring your baby’s own bed linen though.

Watching other families enjoy themselves here shows us how few leave the farm since there is so much to see and do. Here the kids are in their element and don’t have time to get bored! That´s why the parents are having a great time too.
But if you do want to discover the local environment that Zeeland offers then you’ll find beautiful beaches a short distance from the farm, the fascinating Delta works and many other interesting local sites. Here there is something for everyone.
Barnjaard beach is less than 5km from the farm and is one of the cleanest beaches in The Netherlands. You can also visit the well-known seaside resort of Domburg on the island of Walcheren, which can be reached within half an hour from the farm.
This famous lake, also less than 5km from the farm, is great for swimming and many different water sports. At the water sport center ‘de Schotsman’ for example, you can enjoy water skiing, wind surfing, kayaking and ‘banana boating’.
If weather isn’t on your side during your stay then why not take a trip to the tropical swimming paradise in Goes. Here you will find a lazy river, a recreational pool, a toddler paddling pool, a whirlpool, a large swimming pool to practice your lengths and two great water slides.
Located in Middelburg this amusement park boasts an indoor playground, outdoor amusement park and the newly laid out miniature park with its sunken walking routes and miniature buildings of Walcheren. Take the delightful Mini Mundi Express train to discover the whole park!
GlowGolf in Middleburg turns mini golf into a complete new experience. The indoor mini golf course is lit up by black lights. The 18-hole course is surrounded by glow in the dark animals like elephants, tigers and other jungle animals!
The Oosterschelde National Park is unique and must be experienced. Connected to the open sea it is the largest and wettest of all National Parks across The Netherlands. There are numerous ways to explore the Oosterschelde. Besides the many biking and hiking trails, you can also go beach combing, visit a mussel farm or take a wander in your wellies over the tidal marshes and mud flats. The Oosterschelde is a paradise for both the fishing enthusiast and the birdwatcher. In summer you can swim, snorkel or paddle at one of the many beaches around the Oosterschelde.
Situated in the beautiful “De Manteling” nature reserve at Oostkapelle, Terra Maris is the museum to go to if you want to explore the natural environment of the province of Zeeland. Various activities designed to engage children with the natural surroundings are organised throughout the year such as beachcombing.
At the Delta Park Neeltje Jans you can learn about the history of the Delta Works – built to keep everyone safe and to prevent a recurrence of the 1953 flood disaster – and the power of wind and water when combined. Step into a simulator and feel the force of a hurricane or take a boat trip out see to the Delta Works. There is extra fun for the kids with a sea lion show and a water playground.
Why not rent a bike and take the ferry from Kamperland to the beautiful town of Veere situated on the other side of Lake Veerse? This charming old town offers glorious views of the boats in the harbor, beautiful terraces to sit and take a break on or lovely boutique shops if you fancy a browse.
