Farmers Johan, farmer Matine and their six children are super proud of their traditional dairy farm in a truly beautiful spot in Zweeloo, Drenthe. Surrounded by meadows and overlooking the forest, here they enjoy each other, the animals and the nature around them.
Together with 2 farmers’ sons and 4 farmers’ daughters, this lovely family runs the dairy farm and farm campsite with pleasure and passion for many years now, and they love to give you an insight into daily life on the farm. Farmer Johan is a real ‘cow farmer’, with a heart for his animals and animal welfare. He likes to show you in the milk pit how his 90 ladies are milked 2-3 times a day. And you can always help him sweep the feed for the cows, look after the calves and take the cows from the meadow.
Matine’s passion also lies in farming work, despite teaching 3 days a week at secondary school as a physical education teacher. At home, she puts on her boots and will not turn her hand to milking, ensiling or driving a tractor. In fact, she likes nothing better. Their children also help a lot on the farm and campsite and are crazy about their animals. ‘t Looveld is a real family business and the Kamps family would like you to enjoy this.
Pony lovers will certainly get their money’s worth at ‘t Looveld: daughters Annemarie and Marjolijn love their ponies and regularly organise fun activities. You can go for a ride in the outdoor arena or go for a nice walk in the woods with one of the lovely ponies. The ponies, cows and calves are not the only inhabitants of ‘t Looveld. The rabbits, chickens, goats, sheep, cats and dog Kyra complete the herd and provide hours of cuddling fun. When farmer Matine or one of the children feed the animals, you are of course welcome to help.
And there is more to do. The kids can build huts, have fun on the trampoline, mess around in the mud kitchen or make yoghurt or ice cream from fresh milk. In bad weather, they can dive into the hay barn to chill out or play hide-and-seek.
If you are looking for a real farm holiday on a dairy farm where you immediately feel at home, then the Kamps family at ‘t Looveld is the place to be. The only risk is that the kids will soon only like fresh milk 😉.
What a great choice!
Enjoy pure farm life
This is what makes this farm so much fun!
Wow! What a stunning view! Stepping out of your tent at FarmCamp Looveld has never been so beautiful with nothing but open pasture and forests for as far as the eye can see. This is a truly unique place, with lots of peace, space and nature where you literally wake up among the cows.

Of course, your farming adventure is only complete if you also learn something on the farm. And farmer Johan and farmer’s wife Matine personally take care of that. You can help Johan, Matine and their children take care of the cows and calves or feed the animals on our children’s farm every day.
Do you like to play more? Then the farm will also satisfy you. Go tobogganing, jumping on the trampoline, making sand cakes at the mud kitchen or building a hut with your new friends in the wooded glade. Everything is possible!
At check-in, children will receive FarmCamps’ Farmer’s Passport. This contains fun and educational tasks they can do independently or with the farmer. This way, they participate in, and learn about life on the farm.
For each completed task they will receive a stamp in their Farmer’s Passport. When their work is done they will graduate with their own Farmers diploma!
During each stay, farmer’s wife Matine gives a Tour de Boer (farmer’s tour) of their yard. She will be happy to tell you what they do, how they work and show you around their farm.
This way, you will get to know the farm and hear fun and special stories about life on the farm where you are staying. Afterwards, we drink a cup of coffee together and you can get further acquainted with the farmer and farmer’s wife.
Did you know that you can make your own ice cream or yoghurt from fresh milk? Farmer Matine will be happy to explain how. For the yoghurt, she will give you the ingredients and you can make your own in the tent.
At ‘t Looveld, you can ride one of the lovely ponies in the outdoor arena, together with Annemarie, one of the daughters. She will be happy to give you tips and advice. Check out the possibilities at the farm.
You can regularly help farmer Johan take the cows out to pasture and watch them being milked. When it is very hot, the cows stay inside for some cooling and go outside more often at night.
Take a lovely walk to the forest on one of the sweet ponies, Sofietje or Polly. Together with your parents and of course you sit on the pony, and your parents walk beside it.
Of course, the small animals also need something to eat every day. Join the tour of the animals and help farmer Matine or one of the children with feeding.
Are the kids too young to take the walk to the forest? Then put them in the trolley. They’ll love it.
During your stay, there is a chance that the campfire will be lit. Together by the campfire, listen to the crackling of the flames and warm up by the fire.
Do you love ponies too? Occasionally, pony rides are organised or there is an opportunity to brush Sofietje and Polly. Keep a close eye on the activity board for this! Would you like to go for a ride outside the yard? Ask about the possibilities.
In the Bossingel there is always material available to build your own hut. With your new friends, this will be a great adventure!
In the summer holidays, the children of the Kamps family sometimes spontaneously organise all kinds of activities, such as a children’s disco or bingo in bad weather, or a hexathlon or football tournament in good weather.
If you like to play, this is the place for you! Here you can play football, build huts, ride go-karts, mess around with sand and do somersaults on the trampoline!
