Surrounded by exceptional peace and tranquility, here you can discover the true beauty of typical Dutch polder landscape together with Farmer Wilco and Farmer’s wife Durkje. Imagine looking out from your tent over open meadows, watching the grazing sheep and cows while spotting a few birds too! As you sit back and relax in peace and quiet, your mini-farmers will be splashing away to their hearts content at the on-site water playground.
In poor weather don’t be surprised to watch your mini-farmers popping off to play in the large play attic or starting a spontaneous hay fight in the Hay-Hay! Play Barn. For those who prefer a hug to rumble-tumble play, there are plenty of bunnies waiting for you at the large Cuddle Barn. In the dairy, Farmer Wilco takes his time to teach your mini-farmers how to milk a cow, while Farmers Wife Durkje shows your mini-farmers how to make delicious ice-cream from fresh dairy milk.
Located in the heart of Holland, close to international airports, this is an unforgettably beautiful part of The Netherlands. On Sundays, the farming family at Stolkse Weide spend time alone with their loved ones so please note that there are no extra organized activities. But this doesn’t stop you playing and cuddling to your heart’s content with the animals.
When you step out of your tent you are greeted with open meadows and surrounding dykes; the real Dutch polder landscape, all in the heart of The Netherlands. A truly magnificent view!
At FarmCamps Stolkse Weide farm you can choose from one of our 10 luxury, fully equipped Safari Tents including a private toilet. Showers are in the nearby bathing facilities. Or you can treat yourself to a little extra luxury with one of our 10 fully equipped Lodge Tents including private bathrooms.
Our luxury tents are located on two large fields and the real eye-catcher here is the open water playground built in a deepened ditch between the two. Enclosed by a safety fence, your mini-farmers are safe and sound playing here.
Surrounding the camping fields you’ll find cows and sheep grazing, and ducks swimming along the dykes. Each night the cows march home together past the tents and into the dairy for milking. On this location there are five permanent pitches.
This FarmCamps farm is located on a quiet dead-end road and is surrounded by open pastures and fields. Within walking distance is the village of Stolwijk with local shops and restaurants.
No farm adventure would be complete without learning a thing or two from the professionals. Farmer Wilco and his wife Durkje take this very personally! So you can expect to join Farmer Wilco every day when he gets to work milking the cows or you can feed the other animals in the petting barn.
If you are more in the mood to play then you won’t be disappointed! Here you can go-kart, jump around on the trampolines, splash to your heart’s content in the outdoor paddling pool or join your new farm friends to build a hut in Hay! Hay! Play barn. Just enjoy yourself!
During check-in all children are offered a Farmer’s Passport from FarmCamps. These are loaded with fun and educational activities which they can do independently or together with their farmer. Your mini-farmers can discover and experience real life on a farm.
For each completed task they will receive a stamp in their Farmer’s Passport. When their work is done they will graduate with their own farmhand diploma!
During your stay Farmer’s wife Durkje will show you the ropes with a guided tour of the farm. She will share with you the pleasure they get from working the land and raising their livestock.
Experience this unique chance to go where only farmers dare to go and soak up the special stories they´ll share with you about the farm they love and care for.
Together with Durkje and a handy machine you will learn how to make delicious ice-cream from fresh farm milk – and of course you will get to taste it too!
You can hire bikes from the farm and take a delightful ride through the local countryside to discover the beauty of the polders or visit one of the many natural swimming pools.
With so many ditches (more commonly recognised as farmer’s waterways) around the farm, it’s a great place for fishing and canoeing. So make sure you bring your own rod or buy a fishing net in the farm shop. There are canoes that are freely available for a nice paddle tour through the polder.
Always wanted a pet rabbit, but were your parents unsure of whether you could take proper care of it? Then the farm is the place to get in some practice. After an introduction and a little explanation from farmer’s wife Durkje, you get to take your “own” rabbit to your tent to pamper and look after during your holiday. It is not just fun but you get to learn a lot too!
If you like to play, then you’re in the right place! Here you can play football, splash in the mega Water Fun Play Pool, play on the indoor play attic, ride the go-karts or play with sand and do somersaults on the trampoline.
Farmer’s wife Durkje also regularly organizes pizza evenings. Check the activity board for the exact date during your stay.
Looking for ultimate relaxation? Well look no further because Farmer’s wife Durkje is up and about at the crack of dawn and happy to deliver breakfast to your tent! Or maybe you fancy an evening BBQ? Not to worry, Durkje will organise this for you. And of course there is always the small on-site farm shop where you can pick up your basics and a few treats. Every day Durkje bakes fresh bread that you can order at the reception – now that’s handy! On arrival you will receive a list so you can order.
No one likes going home with a bag of dirty washing, so we recommend you order the towel bundle and rent some genuine FarmCamp overalls for the kids. Your mini-farmers will not only look great but their clothes will not get so dirty either!
You can order all your extras at the point of booking, but if you are not sure yet don’t worry, you can also order them on the spot.
A deliciously fresh farmers breakfast delivered to your tent including fresh bread, milk, juice, eggs (you cook these to your own liking) and of course a variety of condiments.
Treat yourself to a tasty farmers BBQ including local artisan meats, salads, bread and sauces and of course it wouldn’t be complete without a treat for the kids. The barbecue (charcoal or gas) is included in the price.
Did you know that Stolwijk is famous for its Stolwijkse cheese? And that they also make delicious (herbed) cheese fondue? You can order a complete cheese fondue package with Farmers Wife Durkje including baguette bread, mixed salads and of course a fondue set.
If the weather isn’t on your side or you are not a fan of BBQs, why not opt for a raclette grill instead? Farmers Wife Durkje happily arranges everything for you including the raclette grill and sourcing delicious meat, breads, sauces and salads.
No need to lug around your own baby gear! This package includes a baby bed, high chair and a changing mat. Don’t forget to bring your baby’s own bed linen though.
Not only will your mini-farmers look very cool in these red overalls but you’ll be sure their clothes don’t get ruined!

Watching other families enjoy themselves here shows us how few leave the farm since there is so much to see and do. Here the kids are in their element and don’t have time to get bored! That´s why the parents are having a great time too.
But if you do want to explore what´s nearby then the ‘Green Heart’ of Holland has something for everyone. Discover the local area from delightful villages to major cities, and plenty of surrounding water for boating and fishing.
For a bit of fun and some cooling off then you don’t need to go far! Right on the farm you will find the outdoor paddling pool where kids will run around and play for hours while you watch and enjoy. The water is only 50cm deep so it is also suitable for younger children.
If you’d rather swim laps instead then why not go to the outdoor pool in Stolwijk? Just a short walk or cycle away there is a deep pool (25 meters in length) including two diving boards. There is also a shallow pool (29 meters in length) with a water slide. The paddling pool has a small fence surrounding it for safety.
At the edge of Lake Reeuwijkse is a wonderful beach perfect for playing and sunbathing. A range of water sports is also available here.
Actually, you don’t even need to leave the yard for playground paradise because here at Stolkse Weide FarmCamps you can play for hours! And if that isn’t enough you can dive about in the Hay Playbarn or tumble around in the large play attic!
A full day of prehistoric action awaits you at the Archeon theme park in Alphen aan de Rijn (25km from the farm). Presenting 9000 years of history from pre-historic through till the Middle Ages – all in one day!
Take a world tour in Avifauna, where more than 1,800 birds live, including also reptiles and lemurs, like the very cute ring-tailed lemurs. Done enough bird spotting? No problem – there’s a playground too! Avifauna is just 25km away from the farm.
At the Molenwaard adventure farm of TV heroes Fien and Teun you will learn everything about Dutch farm life. Take a boat trip, ride a pony, milk a cow or get lost in the willow maze, it’s all possible here.
Rotterdam has one of the most beautiful zoos in Europe – Blijdorp! Discover all the delights this zoo has to offer including many exotic animals from all over the world. You can get up close and personal with elephants, penguins, giraffes, zebras, rhinos and many more! All within a half hour drive from the farm.
This beautiful natural reserve is composed of 13 lakes which are of course perfect for swimming and sailing. Stunning shore edges, reed islands and plenty of grasslands make it a perfect home too for birds, so you are bound to encounter a variety of wildlife here. Every season is different and always beautiful
Less than 20km from the farm and you’ll find yourself at the Dutch World Heritage site of Kinderdijk. Famous for its stunning collection of traditional windmills (as many as 19!), you can experience an authentic windmill and visit a mill workshop to discover how mills are built and maintained together with what life as a miller was like back in the day.
Within 15 minutes you are in the heart of Gouda with its famous cheese market and beautiful architecture, lovely canals, boutique shopping and delightful squares.
