We hebben erg genoten van ons weekendje in onze Farmcamps tent bij recreatiepark De Bosrand in Drenthe. Behalve kleding en wat eten hoef je eigenlijk niets mee te nemen. In de avond lekker de kachel aan en overdag voor je tent zitten in de zon. Badkamer was netjes en modern. Bedden lagen goed.

Fantastisch.!! Ons 35 jarig huwelijk gevierd met kids en kleinkids. Gezellig ingerichte tenten. Met pelletkachel, wat wel nodig was met de kou s nachts eind september. Pony gereden, skelters in overvloed. Teveel om op te noemen. Het was één groot feest. Wat hebben wij genoten.

Fantastisch, desondanks dat er weinig ander campinggasten waren hebben we ons prima op de camping vermaakt

At this pony recreation farm of farmer Martijn and farmer's wife Naduah you will find many ponies that you can learn to ride on, which you can help to look after, cuddle and even take out for a stroll in the forest. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy a swim in the forest lake.
It was not only love at first sight for farmer Martijn and farmer’s wife Naduah when they met…… but also when they saw farm De Bosrand for the first time. The farm is really beautifully situated on …the name says it all…. the edge of the forest, with less than 100 meters away a beautiful forest lake where you can swim on sunny days. With their son Dayo and daughter Maya they love to share their love of animals and nature with their guests. The farm is a true pony paradise with over 50 horses and ponies, an indoor and outdoor riding arena and a paddock where the smallest ponies can chill in the sand. They have expanded the campgrounds into a large but cosy campsite with good facilities, such as a brand new restaurant with terrace with a menu for lunch and dinner. Plenty of room to play on the beautiful large climbing equipment with slides, or enjoy for example, a nice beer, pizza or spare ribs with fries. Something for everyone at De Bosrand. A place where both kids and mum and dad can have a great time, even if you’re not crazy about ponies. 😉 Farmer Naduah loves animals. She fully enjoys taking care of the animals, and even more by doing it together with the guests. Farmer Martijn is always in for a laugh and is always busy at the campsite. . He loves tractors and likes to show off his big, sturdy John Deere tractor, his favourite brand. Son Dayo also loves all those big machines and, when he’s not playing with the camping kids, prefers to join his father on the tractor. Besides lots of sweet horses and ponies, De Bosrand is home to alpacas, rabbits, donkeys, pigs, goats, chickens, cats, deer and ducks. So you will most definitely find a wild bunch of animals when you get here. It’s all about taking care of the ponies and the other animals. You can help with that every day. You can also take a walk with the ponies and alpacas through the forest next to the campsite. Or would you prefer a pony riding lesson, an outdoor pony hack or your ‘own’ cuddly pony during your holiday? For active guests, De Bosrand also has a lot to offer. For example, you can go supping on the forest lake in the woods next to the farm. And you can explore the woods on your mountain bike. Or tour in the surroundings on one of the farm’s rental bikes or spyder wheelz. Farmers Martijn, Naduah, there kids and farm dogs Rosalie and Isa warmly invite you to come and stay at their paradise.

Where do I sleep?

De Bosrand is a large farm campsite with 26 luxury tents spread over several fields. The Lodge Tents are spread over three fields where people with their own camping equipment can stay. The Barn and Farm Tents with private bathrooms are located on their own large field with an animal pasture and views over meadows and woods. The location of this field guarantees a quiet stay on this large campsite. On the entire campsite there are over 90 camping pitches and also three Swedish Stugas for rent.

    Fun and Educational

    No farm adventure would be complete without learning a thing or two from the professionals. Farmer Martijn and farmer’s wife Naduah personally make sure of that. So you can help farmer Naduah, farmer Mirja or the farm employees take care of and feed all the animals on the farm every day. The ponies also love to be brushed and cuddled If you love animals, this is the place to be.

    If you are more in the mood to play then you won’t be disappointed! Go-karting, playing hide and seek in the woods, go wander in the corn maze, swimming at the forest lake, making sand tarts in de sand pit or go with your new farm friends to build a hut in Hay barn. Here there are no rules – just enjoy yourself!

    In the old cow shed, the play barn, there is a cool chill-out area with a table tennis table, air hockey and a football table. You will also find a library and a reading corner here. There is something for every age on this versatile farm.

    Convenient and delicious

    Looking for ultimate relaxation? Your breakfast will be delivered to your tent. And if you fancy an evening BBQ, you don’t need to leave the farmyard for that either. You can also order every day fresh bread rolls. Farmer Naduah will take care of it all for you!

    The farm also has a beautiful terraced cafe to sit and enjoy something to eat or drink – now that’s handy!. Part of the terrace is roofed giving a welcome shelter on windy days or some shade when the sun is shining. Whatever the weather this is a great spot to kick back and relax with a bite to eat or drink. The lunch and dinner menus offer a good selection of delicious dishes. Or simply order a pizza or fries from the snack menu and eat it back in the comfort of your own tent.

    No one likes going home with a bag of dirty washing, Then order the Towel Pack and rent the one and only FarmCamps farmer’s overall for the kids. Then their clothes won’t get so dirty either!

    This is all there is to do nearby

    Watching other families enjoy themselves here shows us how few leave the farm since there is so much to see and do. Here the kids are in their element and don’t have time to get bored! That´s why the parents are having a great time too.

    But if you do want to discover the local environment and what Drenthe has to offer then don’t forget that you can go for a walk in the forest to hunt and gather wood for the campfire right on your tent’s doorstep! De Bosrand is located in the heart of Drenthe with nearby attractions like Hunebedcentrum, Boomkroonpad and Kabouterland
