What will you do with your care pony?
Every day during your stay, your child takes care of their own pony: grooming, feeding, cleaning hooves and of course, cuddling! All under the friendly guidance of the farmer or pony expert. If your child is a true pony lover, this is the perfect way to learn more. Some farms even offer guided pony rides or lessons.
Who is a care pony holiday for?
A holiday with a care pony is perfect for children who love ponies or want to learn how to care for animals. From around age 6, kids can take part in this special experience.During their pony holiday, they’ll groom, feed, cuddle, and take care of their own care pony. No experience is needed friendly guidance is always available. A holiday with a care pony is more than fun: it teaches responsibility, builds confidence, and creates a real bond between child and pony. Whether your child is new to ponies or already passionate, it’s a perfect match.
Which locations offer a care pony?
You can enjoy a holiday with a care pony at several FarmCamps locations in the Netherlands. At these farms, kids get their own care pony to look after throughout the entire stay. Each farm is unique. Some have small riding arenas or offer pony lessons, while others let kids care for a pony right next to the tent. This creates a close bond between child and pony. All care activities are supervised by experienced pony staff or the friendly farmer making it both fun and safe.

De Smulhoeve
Experience what it is like to have your 'own' pony during your holiday. You may ride for one hour every day accompanied by one of your parents. Having your own pony naturally comes with responsibilities such as feeding, cuddling, brushing and also shovelling poo. Yes!
- From 4 yerars old
- Riding experience not required. After all, mum and dad help look after and ride the pony. So riding is always done under the watchful eye of an adult.
- You can choose from a Shetlander, B or C pony, a Haflinger or a Fjord.
- €130 per weekend | €160 per midweek | €220 per week.
- The grooming ponies are very popular. We recommend booking the grooming pony right away (if still available).
Fleur Stables
Fleur Stables is the farm for riders and horsewomen with riding experience. You will be responsible for all the care of your "own" pony: brushing, feeding, mucking out the stable and taking your pony to pasture. And of course, you get to ride for an hour every day. Riding experience is necessary as you will drive without direct supervision. So it is important that you already have the necessary experience with ponies 🙂 .

- Riding experience required. Driving experience will be tested by pre-riding on the day of arrival.
- You can choose from Shetlanders and A, B, C, D and E ponies.
- € 120 per weekend | € 150 per midweek | € 250 per week.
- The grooming ponies are very popular. We recommend booking the grooming pony right away (if still available).
Soodehof Eins
At Soodehof Eins, you can rent a grooming pony during your holiday, if you have always wanted to have your own pony! You are responsible for all the care of the shetlander Fenna or the pony Lea, which of course you do not mind at all 😉. They are also both very easy to ride, which you may also do for an hour a day.

- You can choose between a Shetlander and a pony.
- €90 per weekend | €110 per midweek | €200 per week.
- A limited number of ponies are available as grooming ponies, so we recommend booking in advance!
