Glamping with Kids on the Farm at FarmCamps

Glamping short for glamorous camping is the perfect combination of nature, adventure and comfort. For families, it’s a wonderful way to take a break from everyday life, make memories together and let the children discover nature. At FarmCamps, you’ll find it all: luxury tents on real working farms, surrounded by animals, plenty of outdoor space and peace for the parents.

Why families love FarmCamps

The tents are fully equipped with real beds, a kitchen, dining area, seating area and often even private bathroom facilities.
You stay on a working farm, meet cows, ponies, sheep and other animals, and discover in a playful way where food comes from. There are plenty of child-friendly activities: feeding the animals, building huts, playing in the hay or completing the Farmer’s Passport. Suitable for all ages from toddlers to teenagers (and of course, for parents too).

5 tips for a successful glamping holiday

1. Choose the right farm
FarmCamps has more than 20 farms across the Netherlands from Zeeland to Drenthe. Choose what fits your family best: animals, a playground, or extra comfort like private bathroom facilities.

2. Let the kids help decide
Let them help choose the farm or tent type Farm Tent, Safari Tent or Barn Tent. That way, the excitement starts at home and they’ll be even more enthusiastic upon arrival.

3. Pack smart
Glamping means comfort in nature. Bring comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, a raincoat and a flashlight for the evenings. Don’t forget some games or marshmallows for the campfire!

4. Balance fun and relaxation
Kids want to play and explore, parents want to relax. At FarmCamps, both are possible: the kids are busy outdoors while the parents enjoy peace and nature.

5. Make it educational
A stay on the farm is not only fun but also educational. Where does milk come from? What does a farmer do all day? Let the children keep a little journal or take photos of what they discover.

What to expect

When you arrive, your luxury tent is already set up on the farmyard maybe next to the cows, sheep or ponies. During the day, the children help feed the animals, play outside or explore the farm. In the evening, it’s time for the campfire, stargazing and relaxing together. Parents can enjoy the peace and the fresh country air.

For whom

FarmCamps is perfect for families who want something different from a standard holiday park. For parents who appreciate comfort and children who love to run, play and explore.

Luxury camping and the art of the perfect holiday cocktail

At FarmCamps, they understand that modern holidaymakers are looking for an authentic connection with nature without sacrificing comfort. The concept of farm glamping combines agricultural education with high-quality recreation, involving families directly in the daily activities on the farmyard. The experience of cocktailtjes.nl shows that this active form of relaxation supports mental calm and helps bridge the gap between city and countryside. While children learn the basics of livestock farming and play freely around the farm, parents can truly unwind in a lovely setting while enjoying one or more cocktails. Kids happy, you relaxed.

Getting away from the daily hustle and bustle and sinking your wellies deep into the mud – that’s what a farm holiday is all about. Adventurous outdoor life for the whole family in Southern Norway

A farm holiday stands for freedom, muddy wellies and learning where our food comes from. For families who love this kind of down-to-earth holiday, a trip to Kristiansand in Norway is a fantastic next step. Here you combine the charm of outdoor living with spectacular scenery. Instead of cows in Dutch fields, you’ll spot moose in vast forests and crabs in the sea. The principle remains the same: nature is the biggest and most beautiful playground there is.

Farm life, Italian style

Anyone who loves camping on a farm and the outdoor life will feel right at home in the south of Italy. The region of Puglia is known for its agricultural character, but with a Mediterranean twist. Staying at an agriturismo or a masseria (a historic farmhouse) is the perfect way to experience this rural lifestyle. On the farm: how to get your dog used to other animals

Farm life sounds like a dream to many people, and for dogs it truly is one too. There are new scents to discover everywhere, plenty of space to run around, and all kinds of animals roaming about. Still, that first encounter with a cow, horse or chicken doesn’t always go smoothly. Out of sheer excitement or hunting instinct, your dog can get into serious trouble or scare the livestock badly. According to the experts at labradoodleinfo.nl, a calm and controlled introduction is therefore crucial for the safety of all animals on the farm.
